  • University degree (or equivalent in experience) in a relevant discipline; experience of Spacecraft Operations, preferably on Low Earth Orbit and/or Geostationary orbit, spinning and/or 3-axis stabilized spacecraft with responsibility for one or more platform subsystems or instruments during operational validation, commissioning or routine operations phases
  • Experience of Spacecraft Operations Preparation preferably on LEO and/or GEO, with responsibility on development and validation of operational baseline (procedures, database etc.) including validation tools (e.g. spacecraft simulator) and ground segment Mission and Control facilities
  • Experience in satellite performance monitoring and reporting aspects including anomaly analysis and solving in liaison with satellite industry, procedure change control and configuration management processes
  • Experience in the operation or development of satellite ground segment facilities, in particular procedure development, monitor and control, mission planning, on-board software management, performance analysis, configuration management and simulator facilities
  • Experience with SCOS 2000 (Mission Control System)
Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper in-flight operations for the spacecraft and provide 24/7 on-call service, including performing mission planning checks and monitoring daily operations during the on-call period and reporting on health and performance at weekly meetings using available analysis tools (TM Propagator and CHART) and contributing to in-orbit anomaly investigations
  • Develop and maintain the operational baseline as needed in reaction to anomalies, to enable execution of new operations and improve efficiency and accuracy of operations
  • Participate in activities related to spacecraft routine support service provided by the satellite manufacturer for routine operations and rehearsals
  • Prepare Annual Performance Reports for the respective Spacecraft Subsystem; raise Anomaly Reports and contribute to anomaly resolution as relevant
  • Provide assistance on use of APEX procedure configuration tracking and validation tools/software (including FOP toolkit setup)
  • Contribute to technical aspects of spacecraft simulator development and maintenance
  • Contribute to finalization and validation of spacecraft re-orbiting and decommissioning activities and Technology Tests including liaison with Flight Dynamics and other Subsystems or facility experts
  • Contribute to the review, production and maintenance of operational guides and documents (including SOE Guide, COG etc.)
  • Production and maintenance of the operational baseline including end-to-end preparation of new Manual Procedures, Automated Procedures, Special Operation Instructions, TM/TC/Events/display as well as related Data Units
  • Contribute to the space segment and system reviews as required by the Space Operations Management; ensure proper spacecraft operations preparation interfacing with other satellite teams and reviewing Operational deliverables from industry for acceptance by EUMETSAT; ensure production, verification and validation of operational data units including Manual and automated procedures, TM/TC Database and operational documentation in view of spacecraft main operations preparation milestones and System Validation Tests; contribute to SATSIM tool development and use for Verification & Validation activities
  • Contribute to operations preparation at system level including Operational validation campaigns and rehearsals for Operational Readiness before Launch; contribute to SSVT preparation including delivering SSVT Plan, SVT test specifications, SSVT procedures, TRR and TRB data package, and SSVT execution
  • Contribute to LEOP preparation and interface aspects with the spacecraft system team
  • Contribute to the definition and follow-up of development of engineering Off-Line tools including Spacecraft Analysis and Reporting functions (e.g. CHART)
  • Contribute to production and maintenance of documentation to support development, testing and validation of the system
  • Contribute to definition, production and maintenance of Procedures Production Rules, Naming Convention, System Operations File, SATCOG, Analyst Operations Guide and Analysis and Reporting Operations Guide
  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of Operations training, mainly at Satellite level
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with the use of the APEX operations procedures preparation and execution tool
  • Proven experience in the phases of Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) and commissioning
  • Specification of space system and operational concepts, facility requirements
  • Familiarity with On-Board Control Procedure concepts
  • Familiarity with the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard, customisation and usage
  • Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures
  • Data analysis software packages and programming skills in other coding languages such as Python and Java
  • Use of Visual Basic for Applications for development of ad-hoc tools in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex technical problems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly

Sopra Steria releases 2025 Universal Registration Document with $6.3B revenue

Sopra Steria returns to growth in Q4, net profit up 18% to $336M

Sopra Steria Group reported 2025 revenue of €5.65 billion, down 2.2% year-on-year, though the company returned to organic growth of 1.8% in the fourth quarter. Net profit attributable to the Group rose 18.3% to €296.8 million, with operating margin on business activity at 9.5%. The European IT services firm saw strong performance in strategic sectors including defence, aeronautics, public sector and financial services. AI-related business surged, with the number of French clients launching AI projects rising 44% and AI consultants increasing 50%. Free cash flow reached €340.9 million, representing 6% of revenue. Net financial debt fell 35.4% to €246.7 million. The company will propose a dividend of €5.30 per share, up from €4.65 previously. For 2026, Sopra Steria targets organic revenue growth of 1% to 2% and an operating margin of at least 9.5%.
