Position Summary
The Hub Project is looking for an Organizing Manager for our Economic Education Project. The Organizing Manager will play a critical role in supporting organizing staff across congressional districts focused on educating the public about critical economic issues and holding elected members of Congress accountable to their constituents. Our campaigns leverage a mix of grassroots and community organizing, paid media, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of The Hub and its allies.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for helping to ideate, facilitate, and coach district staff to execute programming, while coordinating with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and partners with whom the team will work closely to advance collective goals, including managing tracking, reporting, earned communications, and operation systems.
As an Organizing Manager you will:
- Support the organizing activities of several issue advocacy campaigns across congressional districts, which may include but are not limited to events, press conferences, rallies, round tables, and bus tours.
- Collaborate with The Hub’s communications, research, and digital teams to ensure that local partners have resources to effectively advocate on a variety of important issues.
- Coach and support on the ground organizers and staff to create a drumbeat of activity.
- Draft actionable campaign plans and strategies that take into account The Hub Project’s diverse set of resources and talent for short-term and long-term objectives.
- Track and report qualitative and quantitative metrics on the successes of the program.
- Build, sustain, and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders and local coalition partners at the state-level.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You:
- You have been an organizer and have overseen staff on electoral or issue campaigns and understand both what is needed to pull off successful events and gain press attention.
- You have a track record of developing and maintaining strong working relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- You’re comfortable with cold calling constituents, vendors, and partners.
- You have a demonstrated commitment to a just and inclusive economy that delivers opportunity and dignity to everyone and preserves and strengthens our democracy
- You have experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, specifically marginalized communities, in considering the impact and outcomes of decision-making
- You are team-oriented, well-organized, and can keep multiple trains running on time.
- You show initiative and you’re a utility player who is flexible in responding to new tasks and responsibilities to get the job done.
- You are an effective convener and communicator and you are comfortable collaborating across departments.
- You have a penchant for problem solving and critical-thinking, and have creative ideas that can be implemented.
- You have a track record of managing up and sideways.
This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit; specific employment terms and conditions are subject to labor-management negotiations and a potential Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
