Requirements
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on lean manufacturing would be beneficial
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively internally and externally, including customers
  • Experience in using problem solving tools and techniques
  • Competent with Microsoft software applications and ability to learn new software e.g., quality data management and reporting systems
Responsibilities
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
  • Monitor, with quality analysis, the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential issues as early as possible
  • Identify the root cause of product related issues using lean/six sigma techniques and recommend solutions together with the operational teams.
  • Product trial coordination within the mill and if required, at customer sites.
  • Lead the handling of customer claim investigation and feedback with robust corrective measures.
  • The role will require a level of routine and non-routine product testing as part of existing and new product development.

International Paper's $9.9B DS Smith Acquisition

International Paper (IP) appointed David Robbie, a former DS Smith board member, to its board after acquiring DS Smith for $9.9 billion. Robbie will serve on IP's audit and finance and public policy and environment committees, with his term expiring in 2025. The acquisition, finalized on Jan. 31, allows up to two DS Smith directors to join IP's board. IP will maintain its headquarters in Memphis and establish a European HQ in London.
