Requirements
  • B.S. in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • New York Professional Engineer License.
  • 15+ years of environmental remediation experience in a consulting environment.
  • Technical expertise in design of a wide variety of soil and groundwater remedial systems.

  • OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of environmental engineering analysis and design tasks related to: planning, environmental site investigation (subsurface and hazardous materials), remediation design and remedial operations.
  • Supervise the development of project plans, design calculations, plans and specifications, engineering cost estimates, and coordinate with other disciplines as required to deliver quality engineering services.
  • Work with a team of professionals to provide environmental remedial engineering expertise on projects including evaluation of remedial options, development and implementation of remedial designs, and cost estimates.
  • Leads and manages the success of Environmental revenue growth in New York through business development efforts and executing a growth plan.
  • Manages, plans, develops, organizes, and implements environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Coordination and presentation of design submissions with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Determines client requirements and develops plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, cost estimates, reports, bid packages, and related documents.
  • Explores subject area, defines scope, selects areas for investigation, and develops novel concepts.
  • Ensures each project, deliverable, etc. complies with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Acts as technical liaison within and outside GFT with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters on environmental projects.
  • Represents GFT at meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish needs and discuss design/permitting issues.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities, including planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating and coaching team member performance; promoting and monitoring quality assurance of services and deliverables; and coaching and mentoring.
  • Oversees staff utilization and project profitability and collections.
  • Engages and leads technical proposal teams or a major component of a proposal team.
  • Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of applicable Pennsylvania laws and regulations.
  • Construction bid specification experience.
  • LNAPL and chlorinated hydrocarbon contaminant investigation and remediation experience a plus, but not required.
