Exeter Finance provides subprime auto financing through a nationwide network of franchised and independent dealers, and it does not lend directly to consumers. It underwrites, purchases, services, and securitizes the retail installment contracts originated by its dealer partners, using a centralized, technology-driven platform for underwriting, risk management, and loan servicing; customers can manage their accounts online 24/7. The company differentiates itself through its scale in the subprime segment, extensive dealer relationships, and backing from private equity firms Blackstone and Warburg Pincus that support its growth and credit facilities. Its goal is to offer reliable funding and servicing for subprime auto loans, helping buyers who don’t qualify for prime lending while building a large, securitized loan portfolio and dealer ecosystem.
