POSITION SUMMARY
The Hub Project is hiring an experienced Deputy Executive Director of Strategy & Special Projects to take a leading role in supporting the design, management, and promotion of new public campaigns leveraging the appropriate mix of strategy, grassroots organizing, paid, and earned media tactics to advance the goals of the Hub and its allies. This is a significant leadership role at The Hub Project and will be an integral part of the Executive Leadership team.
The Deputy Executive Director will have the exceptional opportunity to lead and unite a talented team of experts, each proficient in their respective fields of external affairs, development, communications, and owned media. From external affairs to digital marketing - they’ll be charged with managing budgets, vendors and designing comprehensive plans that tap into an array of resources for our campaigns. They’ll also nurture alliances between partners while taking ownership over relationships across all special projects and initiatives.
As Deputy Executive Director, you will:
- Design and manage budgets to accomplish the strategic goals of the department.
- Lead strategic, campaign focused teams of development, external affairs, and communications that support and work across progressive issue campaigns focused on the economy and democracy.
- Work closely with existing campaign partners, while developing new relationships to build robust, multi-faceted campaigns.
- Oversee rapid-response efforts as necessary.
- Help to build long-term infrastructure through regrant and partnership programs.
- Lead several teams to design professional and consistent reporting on program progress and successes with an eye towards growing our network of stakeholders and our impact.
- Manage an internal team of staff members.
- Serve on the Executive Team which oversees general management of the Hub.
- Identify and cultivate funding sources for individual campaigns and the Hub in general
About you:

- You have 10+ extensive years of experience designing and managing large-scale campaigns.
- You are an excellent verbal and written communicator and have the ability to present to diverse audiences.
- You have a talent for working with partner organizations and forming meaningful organizational collaboration.
- You are an experienced people manager and a talented leader.
- You are interested in helping to build long-term progressive infrastructure and measure impact of the work,
- You are committed to developing strategic plans that work--and orienting numerous people and tactics around achieving goals.
- You have experience with large-scale paid media campaigns and a willingness to try new and innovative tactics alongside traditional approaches.
- You have managed large and complicated budgets.
- You have successfully negotiated with and managed numerous outside vendors.
- You have experience using public opinion research to inform programs.
Salary Range
$170k and above

Comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are eligible for 12 weeks of paid family and medical leave after 90 days of employment.
