Under general supervision, responsible for the repair, maintenance, installation and servicing of refrigeration equipment.
- Journey-level skills in refrigeration repair and maintenance.
- Maintains the necessary technical skills to repair, maintain, inspect, and operate refrigeration equipment.
- Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:
- Valid TX Driver's License is required - must have a clear driving record.
- Overhauls and services units by repairing, replacing or adjusting worn or broken parts on condensers, and water and vacuum pumps.
- Repairs or adjusts valves, piping connections, fittings a and couplings, removes and installs motors, thermostats and humidistat's, and adjusts expansion valves.
- Tests equipment for refrigeration leaks, adds gas to refrigeration units.
- Reclaims refrigerant and adds refrigerant to units as required.
- Checks gauges and inspects units for preventive maintenance.
- Maintains records and prepares reports on repairs and services accomplished.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
