The Underwriter is responsible for evaluating insurance applications to assess risk and determine coverage terms and pricing. This role involves analyzing applicant information, conducting risk assessments, and making informed decisions in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards. The Underwriter plays a critical role in ensuring the financial viability of insurance policies while providing exceptional service to agents and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and analyze insurance applications and supporting documentation.
Assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
Collaborate with agents and clients to clarify information and resolve issues.
Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and rationales.
Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
1-3 years of experience in underwriting or related roles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
At One80 Intermediaries, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, and 10 days of paid time off and 11 paid holidays for eligible employees. The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected total compensation range (base pay + commission) for the first year in this position has been set at $50,000. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
