Requirements
  • 39 hours per week shift work from 06:00 to 22:30, distributed over 5 days per week between Monday and Sunday, with occasional overtime up to midnight
  • Excellent German language skills and good written and spoken English
  • Ability to work in a hotel reception environment and serve as first point of contact for guests
  • Strong organization and improvisation skills
  • Ability to work with guests to arrange and book events, reservations, and supporting activities
  • Experience with booking system HOPE and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts
Responsibilities
  • Reception and guest support; act as the first point of contact, including for events
  • Handle reservations by phone or email and confirm them
  • Organize and book appropriate supporting activities or programs when a single room is not sufficient
  • Identify and arrange suitable offers for birthdays, corporate events, or social gatherings
  • Clarify payment modalities and issue invoices when guests wish to pay
  • Maintain the cash book
  • Work with the booking system HOPE and other Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook) as part of the team
Desired Qualifications
  • A relevant apprenticeship and initial experience in the field is advantageous
  • Experience with hotel reception roles is advantageous
  • Fluency in German and good command of English at a professional level (if not required, at least strongly preferred)

Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung funds EMBL €7M

Boehringer Ingelheim Stiftung has committed €7 million to support the EMBL Imaging Centre in Heidelberg, enhancing its development of cutting-edge imaging technologies. This is the second funding round from BIS, following an initial €5 million in 2017. The funding will help recruit and maintain highly qualified staff, furthering the centre's role as a leading international hub for advanced microscopy technologies and training, having supported over 290 projects from 27 countries since mid-2021.
