TRULAND Equipment is a John Deere dealer with 18 locations in Indiana and Ohio that supplies and services a wide range of new and used equipment for residential, commercial, and agricultural applications. Purpose:

Sells new and used agricultural and turf equipment to new and existing customers. Focuses on call-in, walk-in, retail-oriented, customer traffic.

Responsibilities:

Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership.
Be able to demonstrate the operational capabilities of equipment.
Field internet inquires and respond in a timely, professional manner.
Answer and follow up on advertising calls and general sales calls.
Assist walk-in customers, including ride-on demonstrations.
Track customer interaction on Excel spreadsheet or CRM database.
Manage all inter-store transfers and requests.
Assist with other related activities as assigned.
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required; associate degree preferred.
1+ years of retail sales experience.
Knowledge of agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices preferred.
Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions as well as dealer business systems.
Willingness and ability to work flexible and extended hours and weekends.
Self-starter.
High attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skill set.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to articulate through a phone call or email.
Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Strong listening and interpersonal skills.
Proven sales skills with ability to read customer and close the sale quickly.
Ability to negotiate a sales deal when an offer is being made.
Saturday work hours will be required in this role, including extended hours during peak selling season.
Valid driver’s license required.
Driving record that meets Employer’s insurance company requirements.
