- Experience with enterprise backup and recovery software such as Symantec NetBackup
- Proficiency in Solaris or HP-UX (or both)
- Service guard knowledge for HP-UX or Sun cluster knowledge for Solaris (preferred)
- Knowledge of capacity reporting and projections (periodic)
- Familiarity with job scheduling, patching, application change services
- Ability to interact with networking, storage, business units, physical build teams, hosting architecture teams, recovery/DR teams
- Basic vendor training background
- Capable of on-call rotations and time tracking/reporting
- Willingness to learn and communicate effectively
- Minimum of two years of vendor-specific training (if specified by role)
- Job scheduling, patching, application change services
- Close interaction with networking teams, storage teams, business unit recovery teams, physical build teams, hosting architecture teams
- Disaster recovery support services
- Database administrator support to enable DBAs to function
- Proficiency in Solaris or HP-UX (or both)
- Support for service guard (if HP-UX) or Sun cluster (if Solaris)
