THE OPPORTUNITY:
As a Principal Mobile Engineer at Sibel Health, you will work closely with our team of talented engineers to design and build scalable mobile SDK and mobile applications. The SDK is used widely across multiple applications to communicate with our wireless vital signs monitoring sensor. You will be responsible for optimizing and or rebuilding the existing mobile software(library/application) where nurses and doctors worldwide will directly use the software you develop to interact with the innovative sensor technologies developed by Sibel Health easily. This role will also be responsible for the design, document, development, testing, and maintenance of their work.
WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:
- Lead the architecture, design, and development of high-quality mobile applications, ensuring robustness, scalability, and maintainability.
- Anticipate and address technical issues at the product level, make informed architectural decisions to prevent problems before they arise.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in coding standards, tools, and platforms within the mobile development team.
- Simplify complex projects and streamline processes to increase team efficiency and accelerate delivery without compromising on quality.
- Contribute prolifically to core and supplemental projects, embodying technical brilliance and a results-oriented mindset.
- Influence and articulate the organization’s mobile strategy and product vision, collaborating with stakeholders across departments.
- Foster innovative thinking, encouraging team members to explore new technologies and creative solutions to challenges.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure integration and alignment between mobile applications and other business services.
- Guide the team in making strategic decisions, developing a consensus, and providing unequivocal support for the decisions once made.
- Set a technical roadmap for the mobile team, looking ahead to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and plan for technological enhancements.
ABOUT YOU:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in native and/or cross-platform mobile application development.
- Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and integration of software development kits (SDKs), including defining SDK interfaces, writing documentation, and ensuring compatibility with various mobile platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with medical device software development, including a thorough understanding of regulatory standards such as FDA, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304, which govern medical device software lifecycle processes.
- Familiarity with the requirements and constraints of developing software within the medical field, including data security and patient privacy concerns.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience working with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology or IoT technology for device communication and data exchange in mobile applications.
- Proficient understanding of network protocols, including Socket programming for real-time data transfer, HTTP for web communications, and experience integrating RESTful APIs.
- Proven history of leading mobile software design and deployment of successful apps on iOS and/or Android platforms.
- Expert knowledge of mobile app development languages, such as Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java, and frameworks like Flutter or React Native.
- Experience with mobile application performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
- Mastery of DevOps practices, CI/CD methodologies, and automated testing for mobile applications.
- Strong ability to mentor senior engineers and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Deep understanding of UI/UX design principles and accessibility standards for mobile applications.
