Requirements
  • Advanced understanding of statistics, data analysis, and data visualization.
  • Working knowledge of information security and IT concepts including vulnerability management, patching, endpoint security, cloud security, identity and access management, asset inventory, logging and monitoring, and risk management.
  • Ability to analyze large and complex security, IT, and business datasets to identify trends, anomalies, data quality issues, and emerging risks.
  • Experience with data modeling, including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and dimensional modeling.
  • Proficiency with relational databases and SQL, and programming or scripting with Python or R.
  • Typically two years of relevant experience in information security, IT, data analysis, statistics, or a related field.
  • Ability to translate business questions into analytical approaches and present insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data quality frameworks, including validation, profiling, and anomaly detection.
Responsibilities
  • Build, refine, and maintain extract, transform, and load pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring quality, consistency, and trustworthiness.
  • Develop tools, scripts, and automation to streamline data processing, risk measurement, and platform operations.
  • Develop and maintain analytics, metrics, and dashboards measuring information security performance, risk exposure, remediation progress, and control effectiveness.
  • Analyze large volumes of security, IT, and business data to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks.
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling material for executives and operational stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of metrics, models, and dashboards used to monitor information security performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, frame analytical problems, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Provide stakeholder support through communication, requirements definition, and delivery of reports and dashboards that meet evolving needs.
  • Document solutions, workflows, and procedures to support consistency, accuracy, and knowledge sharing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with cybersecurity or IT data sources such as vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection tools, configuration management databases, cloud platforms, identity systems, security information and event management or logging platforms, and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Domo.

Sony and VITEC launch integrated IPTV solution for BRAVIA professional displays

Sony Electronics and VITEC have announced a global collaboration to integrate Sony's BRAVIA professional displays with VITEC's IPTV and digital signage platform. Sony, TSMC to invest $6.4B in joint chip plant in Japan

Sony Group and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. are in discussions to invest a combined ¥1 trillion ($6.4 billion) in their planned joint chip factory in Japan, according to a person familiar with the matter. The investment represents a significant expansion of the two companies' manufacturing partnership in the country. TSMC, the world's largest contract chipmaker, has been working to diversify its production base beyond Taiwan. The joint facility would strengthen Japan's domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities whilst providing Sony with more secure access to advanced chip production. Nintendo reports 38.5% of software sales are physical as Sony plans to end disc production by 2028

Nintendo reported that 38.5% of its software sales between March and June 2026 were physical copies, whilst 61.5% were digital purchases. This comes as Sony plans to end game disc production by January 2028. The Japanese gaming company earned 132.7 billion yen from digital sales in the quarter, marking a 90% year-on-year increase. However, Nintendo's digital sales figures include Switch Online subscriptions, downloadable content, and download-only titles. Software sales for Switch 2 increased 9.2% year-on-year to 9.46 million units, whilst original Switch software rose 38.6% to 33.81 million units. The substantial physical sales ratio suggests Nintendo has no immediate plans to abandon boxed games, contrasting with Sony's approach.
