Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as an LPN in the state of South Carolina or hold a current compact/multi-state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC.
  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Responsibilities
  • To provide nursing care for physician practice patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
  • To apply knowledge of patient care tasks and techniques to provide nursing care.
  • Provide patient care in outpatient physician practice under the direction of the practicing MD, APP or RN.
  • Responsible for staging patients in preparation to see providers.
  • Update all patient medications in the medication history at each visit.
  • Perform patient related tasks as directed by practice providers.
  • Facilitate the timely communication of clinical advice to patients electronically or by phone as directed by practice providers.
  • Ensure all needed medical records are available to care team and providers prior to patient’s office visit.
  • Coordinate with other team members to provide exceptional patient service.
  • The LPN should be proficient with HPP (the practice management software) and eClinical Works (the EHR).

Desired Qualifications
  • Completed externship or clinical lab training (preferred).
  • 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience (preferred).
  • BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for RSoper? text says at hire for RSF; we'll quote as 'required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH' )
  • Education: In South Carolina ... completion of one of the below is required... (these are educational requirements; since it's in Education section, it's not necessarily Desirable; but since SC specifics are more like required due to licensure, maybe keep as Desirable? The instruction says Desirable are preferred; these SC education options could be required in SC; but to be safe, include items explicitly labeled preferred.
