Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and minimum 1 year of experience working independently in radiology
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures
  • Obtain all equipment needed for a procedure, position and image patients, resolve equipment issues
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies, and equipment operation to include fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and ancillary therapeutic devices
  • Prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure
  • Corroborate a patient's clinical history with the procedure and ensure information documented and available for use by the clinician
  • Provide patient care through communication, patient assessment, and patient monitoring
  • Post process digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification
  • Periodic weekend and off hour call will be required
  • Report directly to the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist Supervisor
  • Collaborate with Interventional Radiologist and Registered Nurse to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures
