Senior Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with a minimum 10 years of experience for our LA – Woodland Hills office, who wants to work and grow as a team player within our progressive multi-discipline firm. The successful individual will be a licensed engineer with solid experience in the design of steel, concrete and wood commercial/institutional buildings.

In This Role You Will:

• Perform and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & institutional building projects
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well-coordinated and high-quality set of structural drawings
• Lead project teams of engineers, designers and drafters to execute structural designs
• Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design
• Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications
• Manage profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients
• Work closely with the Discipline Manager to support the needs of the department, projects, and growth objectives

Compensation and Benefits

• Approximate Base Salary – $120,000 - $150,000+ based on experience
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
• Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil or Structural engineering
• PE or SE registration in any state
• 10 or more years of experience with design of concrete, steel, and timber structures
• Ability to work independently with proper engineering oversight
• Ability to work and collaborate in larger project teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications

• Registered CA Structural Engineer
• M.S. degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Multi-discipline project management experience
• Experience with DSA and OSHPD
• Experience with 3D modeling software (ETABS, RISA, SAFE)
