Job Description:
Summary:
The Machine Center Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Nobel Biocare MachineCenter. The supervisor will contribute to ensure that production of products are completed on time, withminimal to no defects, and that all operators and technicians on the floor are provided a clean and safeenvironmenttowork.
We are looking to fill either the 2nd or 3rd shift. The second shift is 1pm - 9:30pm. The 3rd shift is 9:30 pm - 6 am, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Responsiblefor reviewing,reportingandcommunicatingitemsontheDailyManagementBoardstomachineoperators andtechnicians.
- Works with complex blue prints and drawings, performs standard shop computations relating todimensions of work, tooling, speeds and feeds of machining, and use a wide variety of precision measuringinstruments.
- At times, will be expected to perform or delegate properly the training of operators and techniciansregarding CNC Swiss machine operation, tool grinding, machine set up, use of precision measuringequipment andgeneralmachinecenter requirementsupto and includingprogramming.
- Responsibleforalltoolandsupplyordersnecessaryforefficientoperationofthemachinecenter.Developsand monitors systems for allshop activitiesregarding efficiency.
- WorkswiththeProductionManagerfortherecruitmentandhiringofMachineCenterpersonnel.
- Supervisory responsibilities include the direct supervision of 20+ non-exempt employees including CNCmachine operators, and technicians. Carries out supervisory responsibilities including training; planning;assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressingcomplianceandsolvingproblems.
Job Requirements:
Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:
GED or equivalent education; Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Life Sciences, or related field is a plus.
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment within a regulated industry; pharmaceutical, medical device, food/beverage manufacturing is a plus
1+ years of leadership experience
Preferred Skills:
Computer literacy and skills consistent with being able to manage CNC/Machine Shop
Leading through people and delivery consistent results
Knowledge of and capability to administer food and drug administration "Good Manufacturing Practices" and ISO 9001 requirements.
Capable of organizing, planning and working with budgets, production schedules, training plans, equipment maintenance plans and all general administrative requirements (e.g. safety, hazardous materials, employee performance reviews).
Technical problem solving and critical reasoning skills
