Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or six or more years of work experience.
  • Twelve or more years of experience architecting, designing, and implementing large-scale AI/ML systems in production, including large-scale natural language processing projects and fine-tuning and evaluation of large language models for downstream tasks such as text generation, classification, summarization, question answering, and entity extraction.
  • A proven track record of designing, developing, and deploying agentic solutions at scale with measurable results mapped to business goals.
  • The ability to represent the team in leadership forums, elevate the AI practice by creating next-generation solutions, and evangelize best practices.
  • The ability to guide the team in analyzing cognitive insights and leveraging unstructured conversational data to create transformative, intelligent, context-aware, and adaptive AI systems.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning and deep learning models from scratch in Python.
  • Working knowledge of natural language processing frameworks and libraries including NLTK, spaCy, Transformers, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and the Hugging Face API.
  • Working knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms and data preprocessing techniques, including their impact on algorithm accuracy, precision, and recall.
  • Knowledge and implementation experience with convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, long short-term memory networks, generative adversarial networks, and deep reinforcement learning.
  • Experience with RESTful and JSON API services.
  • Working knowledge of word embeddings, TF-IDF, tokenization, n-grams, stemmers, lemmatization, part-of-speech tagging, entity resolution, ontology, lexicology, phonetics, intents, entities, and context.
  • Experience analyzing live chat and call conversations with agents.
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, PySpark, Scala, and other relevant languages and tools.
  • An understanding of validation frameworks for generative model output and approaches to scaling validation for future-ready systems.
  • Familiarity with GPU/CPU architecture, distributed computing, and infrastructure requirements for scaling generative AI models.
  • The ability to provide technical thought leadership on model architecture, delivery, monitoring, measurement, and model lifecycle best practices.
  • Experience with MLOps tools and best practices.
  • Contributions to open-source AI/ML projects.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications industry data and use cases.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

AT&T may recover $57M fine as Verizon's Supreme Court challenge fails

The US Supreme Court denied Verizon's petition to recover $47 million paid to the Federal Communications Commission for selling customer location data, ending the carrier's legal challenge. AT&T remains in a stronger position to recover its $57 million fine due to different procedural routing through the Fifth Circuit. Between 2014 and 2019, both carriers sold real-time GPS location data for over 140 million subscribers to aggregators, who resold access with minimal oversight. The FCC fined four carriers $196 million total in April 2024. Verizon exhausted its legal options after the Supreme Court ruled 8-1 that carriers weren't denied jury trials because they could have refused payment. AT&T's case was sent back to the Fifth Circuit, where its attorneys argue the company was misled into paying and that the location data wasn't covered by FCC authority.
