The Role
The Operations team is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst who is eager to learn about marketplace lending and support our Controls function.
In this role you will be accountable for monitoring business rules, as well as building new monitoring tools, to ensure Prosper is appropriately managing our operating risk. This opportunity requires a curious individual willing to dive deep into business processes and systems to drive improvements. The individual needs to be comfortable collaborating with different departments to deliver results cross functionally. This is a cross-functional role that requires partnership with stakeholders, questioning the status quo, and getting into the weeds to get the job done.
Problems You Will Solve
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational controls to ensure financial integrity and security, including regular monitoring, gap identification, and proposing corrective actions
- Stay updated on fintech lending regulatory requirements, collaborating with compliance teams to ensure adherence
- Conduct risk assessments, recommend process improvements, and work cross-functionally to mitigate risks
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation, monitoring effectiveness post-implementation
- Generate and analyze reports on operational controls and compliance metrics, communicating findings and recommending adjustments
- Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to promptly address identified issues within SLAs and champion a data-driven culture
- Become Prosper platform SMEs by developing a deep understanding of how processes work, including upstream and downstream impacts
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience (5+ years for consideration at Senior level)
- Expert SQL proficiency required; some Python exposure (moderate level Python experience required for Senior level); strong analytical skills for data analysis and root cause analysis
- Experience with Google Cloud, GitHub, DBT, CI/CD strongly preferred
- Passion for solving operational challenges, especially corner cases and improving processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate independently
- Highly attentive to detail, extremely thorough, and accurate in work and documentation
- This role is a HYBRID opportunity (two days a week in office), candidates will need to be based out of Phoenix or San Francisco
