Requirements
  • Current registration as a voter in Pima County.
  • Availability to work on-call as needed and overtime for extended periods.
  • Ability to apply basic math principles to complete daily logs of processed work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of the Election Officer Certification and Training Program as required by the Arizona Secretary of State’s office.
  • A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate, but pre-employment background screening is required.
  • A valid driver license is required at application, and a valid Arizona driver license is required at appointment, except for Early Boards positions.
Responsibilities
  • Process early ballots for tabulation.
  • Manually count envelopes against reports.
  • Prepare election supplies and voting machines for delivery to poll locations.
  • Make minor mechanical and electrical repairs on voting equipment.
  • Load and unload election supplies and other materials.
  • Transport and receive election ballots, returns, and precinct supplies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.

  • Experience with written and oral instructions and communication.
  • Experience with safety procedures for moving supplies.
  • Experience performing operator-level maintenance on assigned voting equipment.
  • Experience interpreting street guides or maps.
