Hover.to provides a cloud-based 3D visualization platform for home improvement projects. It serves homeowners, contractors, and construction companies by letting users visualize renovation ideas in 3D before starting, collaborate on plans, obtain accurate measurements, generate estimates, and order materials all within one system. The product works as a subscription service: users can start with a free trial and then pay for access to features. The platform also includes a faster claims process to help homeowners handle insurance claims more quickly. Compared to competitors, Hover.to combines 3D visualization, collaboration, measurement accuracy, estimates, and materials ordering in one integrated workspace, with a focus on improving communication and trust between homeowners and professionals. Its goal is to streamline planning, quoting, ordering, and claims for home improvement projects, reducing friction and boosting customer satisfaction.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Hover already serves millions of home improvement projects, indicating broad market adoption.[4]
  • Direct ordering can reduce friction from estimate to purchase for contractors.[3][6]
  • Insurance and construction use cases expand monetization across adjacent, high-frequency workflows.[1][4]

What critics are saying

  • Large suppliers can bundle competing design tools with material sales and undercut software pricing.
  • Distribution partners can steer contractors toward their own inventories and weaken Hover's neutrality.
  • Accuracy or fulfillment errors in direct ordering create contractor liability and damage trust.

What makes Hover unique

  • Hover turns smartphone photos into measured 3D home models for construction and insurance.[1][4]
  • The platform combines measuring, design, estimating, and ordering in one workflow.[4][6]
  • Hover sells membership and pay-as-you-go plans to professionals, with pricing from $999 yearly.[2]

Ai Revolutionizes Home Design With Instant, Innovative Solutions

A new artificial intelligence program that can design a house in seconds shows how technology is transforming the way we envision and create our living spaces. Icon, known for its 3D-printed housing, is venturing further into automation with the launch of Vitruvius, an AI system designed to empower consumers in the home design process. Currently, in open beta, the program promises to streamline the creation of customized floor plans for interior and exterior renders, eventually progressing to complete construction blueprints and schedules. “In the future, I believe nearly all construction will be done by robots, and nearly all construction-related information will be processed and managed by AI systems,” Icon CEO Jason Ballard said in a news release. “Vitruvius will become the default method for Icon in designing custom homes. We intend to be selling and building Vitruvius-designed homes beginning this year.”
