Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of experience in Roadway/Highway design engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team or teams, including engineers and technicians.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture and ensure professional growth and development of department team members.
  • Guide the team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Conduct performance appraisals.
  • Identify staffing needs and actively participate in recruiting and hiring.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Ensure the department’s project deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Plan, organize, and direct department activities, including project management, design, and construction oversight.
  • Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major projects.
  • Serve as a project manager on various roadway projects.
  • Perform QC/QA as needed.
  • Develop new client relationships and seek out opportunities for new business.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications.
