Requirements
  • Education associated with a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, along with knowledge of electronic communication methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and departments simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and recruit students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to travel throughout Maine, New England, and selected market areas around the country, normally requiring a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work creatively and generate new ideas.
  • Basic computer proficiency, knowledge of Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate in an approachable, open, and honest manner.
Responsibilities
  • Recruit first-year and transfer students.
  • Work closely with students, families, guidance counselors, and transfer counselors to help the University meet its undergraduate admission goals.
  • Communicate with prospective students and their families about the University's academic programs.
  • Follow up through written, telephone, and electronic contact to promote the University of Maine.
  • Work toward yielding students from a designated territory to enroll in and attend the University of Maine or the University of Maine at Machias.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of admission, admissions-related, marketing, sales, and/or education experience.
