Responsibilities
  • Prepare and present Téléjournal Ontario on Fridays, National Hebdo on Saturdays, and weekend short bulletins.
  • Assign journalists on duty during weekends.
  • Find relevant interview topics, write and prioritize the main elements of bulletins, deliver content, and interview newsmakers.
  • Plan, conceive, organize, and develop the production and realization of shows.
  • Support the team and reporters in producing reports or interventions and coordinate the work of others.
  • Create content for digital platforms as needed.
  • Coordinate and supervise staff members or guests contributing to the show, and select, adapt, or revise texts by others.
  • Prepare scripts and ensure delivery of news bulletins on television or in digital formats.
  • Develop content according to priorities set by assignment and deployment staff.
  • Ensure smooth content flow between digital platforms, shows, and television.
  • Conceive and develop show ideas and concepts.
  • Evaluate all aspects of a production, including programming and production staff performance.
  • Participate in public or community relations activities.
  • Maintain expertise related to the performance of the work.
  • Participate in selecting produced topics and propose original topics for shows and the newsroom.
  • Determine the order and importance of show elements.
  • Find relevant guests, organize recorded or live interviews, and prepare visual elements for interviews.
  • Develop research files, conduct pre-interviews, and create interview plans with specific angles and concise questions.
  • Identify elements to serve as Téléjournal Ontario headlines.
  • Edit and mix sound or visual elements, or direct their editing and mixing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Very good knowledge of English.
  • Familiarity with the Toronto area, Ontario, and French Ontario.
  • Proficiency in Mediacentral/iNews.
