Requirements
  • A degree or college diploma in computer science or another related academic field is preferred.
  • CompTIA or HDI certification is a plus.
  • Must be available for on-call work.
  • Must have excellent technical knowledge of personal computer hardware.
  • Must have hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Must have extensive equipment support experience with Windows-based computer systems.
  • Must have working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards, including TCP/IP.
  • Must be able to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and original equipment manufacturer guides.
  • Must be able to research personal computer issues and products as required.
  • Must have effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Must understand the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Must be self-motivated and directed, attentive to detail, and able to analyze and solve problems.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods, operate a keyboard, mouse, power tools, and computer components, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Own assigned problems through final resolution.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware and software products.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of individual and company information.
  • Log activity in the information technology ticketing system, track and close assigned tickets, and document hardware failures, repairs, installations, and removals.
  • Support the development and implementation of new computer projects, hardware installations, lifecycle management, and new-store implementations.
  • Research computer products for personal computer procurement and development efforts, and evaluate and recommend hardware products for purchase.
  • Work with end users to identify and deliver required personal computer service levels.
  • Train and support end users and staff in computer operation.
  • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex personal computer problems, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair when needed.
  • Respond to incoming calls, pages, and emails regarding information technology problems.
  • Work with the Help Desk Manager to maintain an inventory of information technology assets.
  • Monitor and test personal computer performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Construct, install, and test customized configurations across various platforms and operating systems.
  • Coordinate with third-party support and personal computer equipment vendors as needed.
  • Comply with information technology and company policies, maintain confidentiality, enforce software and hardware standards, and develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attend the primary work location physically.
