Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • Basic Life Support training or retraining must be completed during orientation before providing patient care and maintained through retraining throughout employment.
  • At least one year of clerical experience in a medical or patient-care setting is required.
  • Experience using hospital and laboratory information systems, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may satisfy the requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supervisory support for Lead Lab Assistants and Lab Assistants at off-site drawing facilities.
  • Ensure adequate staff training and staffing levels.
  • Communicate with laboratory supervisors and doctors' offices.
  • Develop and maintain outpatient phlebotomy policies and procedures.
  • Oversee inventory control at all off-site locations.
  • Coordinate and develop laboratory assistants.
  • Provide tools and training for laboratory assistants.
  • Assist the supervisor with general management functions.
  • Work cooperatively as part of the team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Multilingual ability is desired but not required.
  • Experience in multiple technical disciplines is desirable.
  • Supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Customer service experience is desirable.
