Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or Biomedical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering industry experience is required.
  • Experience in the medical device industry is required.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, ISO 13485 Design Control, and manufacturing process IQ, OQ, and PQ qualifications as related to medical devices is required.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal processing, including machining, polishing, and welding, plastics processing, and mechanical assembly is required.
  • Knowledge of how to troubleshoot and analyze the effectiveness of manufacturing processes is required.
  • Experience implementing actions to improve equipment uptime, yield, efficiency, and production quality is required.

Responsibilities
  • Work within cross-functional project teams including Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to maintain and improve manufacturing processes for surgical products in the medical device industry.
  • Design, specify, develop, and purchase manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Manage the implementation and validation of new or modified manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Support and guide internal plant transfers and external supplier transfers.
  • Write and implement Manufacturing Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Create, update, and maintain Bills of Materials, Routers, and Device Master Records.
  • Provide process engineering knowledge and oversight to resolve manufacturing-related problems with existing products and processes.
  • Champion improvement processes to reduce or eliminate rework, scrap, and labor variance in plant processes.
  • Support the Material Review Board process by investigating and resolving manufacturing and supplier quality concerns.
  • Identify innovative manufacturing technologies from industry best practices for application to company products and manufacturing processes.
  • Represent the Manufacturing Engineering group on strategic Manufacturing and Sourcing projects.
  • Work cross-functionally with Environmental, Health, and Safety, product development, process technology, Centers of Excellence, facilities, quality, regulatory, planning, and procurement teams to address process challenges, material changes, lifecycle management, and sustaining changes.
  • Represent value stream teams in strategic site and enterprise projects addressing quality improvements, lifecycle management, and new product introductions.
  • Execute engineering studies, IQ/OQ/PQ and technical measurement and verification validations, manufacturing process requirements, specifications, Engineering Change Requests, Engineering Change Orders, and Engineering Drawings for equipment and processes.
  • Conduct statistical process control analysis and trending of process parameters, inputs, and outputs; improve manufacturing yields; reduce scrap; and error-proof manufacturing processes.
  • Perform technical investigations, non-conformance investigations, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, and Corrective and Preventive Action.
  • Complete projects to drive process, quality, reliability, and cost improvements using advanced technologies and lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
  • Conduct time studies, process evaluations, and technical evaluations to align Bills of Materials, work instructions, and routers with processes and ensure cost accuracy throughout product transfer and product lifecycle.
  • Monitor value-stream performance metrics and develop improvement actions to attain targeted Key Performance Indicators.
  • Develop hands-on product, process, and equipment training programs.
  • Participate in cross-functional process and product project teams including product development, quality assurance, facilities, regulatory, and manufacturing.
  • Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of machine and tool design, equipment design, and startup of new equipment is preferred.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment is preferred.
  • Experience assisting with Black Belt or Green Belt projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D computer-aided design is preferred.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methods is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile and Oracle data systems is preferred.

Integra LifeSciences targets $200M operating cash flow as SurgiMend relaunch nears Q4

The medical technology company posted adjusted earnings per diluted share of $0.54, up from $0.41 in the prior year. The company reaffirmed full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $1.662 billion to $1.702 billion whilst raising its adjusted earnings per share guidance to $2.40 to $2.50, up from the previous range of $2.30 to $2.40. Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $76.2 million, representing 19.4% of revenue, compared to $63.6 million or 16.6% in the prior year. The company generated $9.8 million in operating cash flow during the quarter, with net debt standing at $1.6 billion.
