Requirements
  • At least 2–4 years of experience working as a Professional Engineer in Ontario in a civil engineering role.
  • A valid Professional Engineer licence through Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives.
  • A commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Planning and Engineering teams on land development and linear infrastructure projects.
  • Deliver civil engineering projects including lot grading plans, industrial, commercial and institutional developments, site plan control applications, and residential subdivisions.
  • Prepare and review technical deliverables, including stormwater management designs and reports and functional servicing studies.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to prepare and review detailed engineering drawings.
  • Apply technical modelling software such as Visual OTTHYMO, PCSWMM, and HEC-RAS.
  • Provide on-site technical review and general review certification when required.
  • Prepare and review project cost estimates and bid documentation, and perform bid evaluation.
  • Coordinate project needs with the Project Manager, Discipline Manager, clients, regulatory entities, vendors, and subcontractors.
Desired Qualifications
  • A university degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of stormwater management, site servicing, and water resources engineering.
  • Experience completing the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment planning process.
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and technical modelling software.
  • Superior organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A valid Class G driver's licence.
