Job Details:
TheHousing Outreach Ambassadorwillserve asarepresentative of The University of Texas at Austin andUniversity Housing and Diningby facilitating tours of University Residence Halls, assisting withhousing outreach events and initiatives, and supporting operations within the main University Housing and Dining office.
The Housing Tour Ambassador Program is coordinated through the Occupancy Management officewithin the Residence Life unitofUniversity Housing and Dining.This positionreportsdirectly to the Manager for Outreach.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate and present ideas clearly and concisely
Develop strong customer relations skills
Gain experience in recruitment and retention for large-scale housing operations
Showcase campus and student life throughresidence hallwalking toursand other recruitment eventsfor prospective students, families, and other guests.
Communicate with prospective students and families throughout theon-campus housing application and contracting processesvia phone,email, and other methods.
Serve as panelists, lead presentations, and as student hosts for on and off campus events for prospective and admitted students.
Assist with event logistics, including setup, takedown, and coordination of campus visit programs.
Support operations of themain University Housing Office and North and South campus residentialcommunitiesby greeting and assisting visitors and completing office tasks such as data entry orpreparing for other large-scale outreach initiatives.
Complete 24 semester hoursat the University of Texasprior to employment.
Must be a regularly enrolled student as defined by the Quantity of Rule in the General Information Catalogue at the University of Texas at Austin.
Must have and maintain a 2.5or abovecumulative GPA.
Must have and maintain good judicial standing at the university.
Desire to serve as a representative of the University to students and families from various backgrounds.
Comfortablespeaking with large and small groups as well as engaging in one-on-one conversations.
Experience providing customer service.
Ability to be flexible and energetic in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to complete all required training and attend team meetings.
Ability to perform light physical tasks such as event setup (lifting, pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Previous on-campus living experience.
Preferred availability: Mondays & Fridays 8am-5pm
Flexible work schedule determined by the needs of the unit and the student
Compensation:
In addition to regular shifts scheduledatresidence hall and apartmentfront desks,some weekend andevening hours will be required.Shifts may vary based on event needs.Paid stafftrainingand meetings throughout the semester.
Work a minimum of 12 hours and a maximum of 25 hours per week during the academic year
