Requirements
  • Typically has the education associated with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and up to one year of experience working in a museum and/or historical society setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated customer service principles and experience providing exemplary customer service.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills; proven organizational skills, attention to detail along with experience managing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills necessary to communicate with the staff, public, and all levels of the campus community.
  • Familiarity with modern and contemporary art.
  • Experience working with people of all ages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple unrelated projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • The Museum and Guest Relations Coordinator plays a valuable role in providing exemplary customer service to all guests, which will include responding to requests for information, answering questions, and informing guests of museum policies.
  • This position is also responsible for assisting with museum programs and events and maintaining the museum’s telecommunications and filing systems.
  • The position requires exemplary customer service skills, strong communication and organization skills, attention to detail while managing multiple tasks, and basic computer skills.
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions to assist in the efficient operation of the Museum.
  • Throughout the year, the position assists with art-handling duties, unpacking of delicate works of art, and other collections-related duties as assigned by the Registrar.
  • Creates social media content.
  • Interacts with Museum guests.
  • Assists with events and event details, including solely managing certain events.
  • Handles certain administrative projects assigned by the Senior Executive Director, such as the creation of report documents.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience setting up, maintaining, and optimizing websites and company pages within social media platforms to increase visibility of social content.
  • Event management experience.
  • Familiarity with copyright/intellectual property laws.
