Requirements
  • 7+ years architectural design experience
  • Registered Architect preferred (or eligible)
  • Expertise in BIM workflows and Revit, plus strong graphic/visual communication skills (hand + digital)
  • Proficiency with analogue (hand) and electronic forms of visual and graphic communication
  • Strong leadership experience in establishing scope, and directing the work of professional architects and technical staff on multiple projects, in a hybrid (in-studio and virtual) work environment
  • The ability to contribute to large projects (> $100 million construction value) with minimal supervision, including consultant coordination and client management
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior architectural team members
  • Experience in leading project pursuit efforts (RFQ/RFP responses, fee letters)
  • Proficient with MS Office, MS Project, and Adobe Suite
Responsibilities
  • Innovatively design and deliver projects with a deep curiosity to understand all relevant stakeholders (i.e. patrons and transit agencies) and develop creative responses to meet their needs
  • Develop innovative solutions to challenging design and technical issues, championing sustainable strategies to reduce environmental impact
  • Assisting in developing and managing client relationships
  • Leading communications with and reports to Authorities having Jurisdiction
  • Delivering projects efficiently and effectively through inspirational leadership
  • Providing leadership and direction to team members to develop in-house expertise and methodologies (design, technical and quality standards, etc.) to advance the group and the efficiency and effectiveness of our architectural work
  • Actively contribute to design discussions, critiques, and a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking
  • Championing sustainable design strategies that can reduce our environmental impact
  • Provide inspiring leadership to project teams, mentoring junior staff and advancing our design, technical, and quality standards.

FVRD wins Silver for PIBC's Award for Excellence in Planning Practice. June 8, 2026 News story. For Immediate Release Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) and Dialog BC received the 2026 Planning Institute of British Columbia (PIBC) Award for Excellence in Planning Practice: Small Community and Rural Areas in the silver category for the Fraser Canyon Complete Community Assessment project. The year-long project funded by the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) provided a detailed look at housing, transportation, infrastructure, and access to daily needs (services) in the canyon communities. The project was guided by four themes: housing, access to daily needs, transportation, and infrastructure. The study identified opportunities to strengthen community hubs, improve local livability and inform the Official Community Plan update for parts of Electoral Areas A and B. "This project helped to identify how the Fraser Canyon can evolve over the next 20-years," said Patricia Ross, FVRD Board Chair. "I am extremely proud of the work by FVRD staff as well as how residents provided valuable feedback which showed their dedication in creating resilient communities for the future," she said. The FVRD is the third most populous regional district in British Columbia and one of twenty-seven throughout the province.
