Requirements
  • An associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Advertising, Journalism, Business Administration, Media Studies or Hospitality and Event Management, or equivalent work experience.
  • A valid Commonwealth of Virginia Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
  • Create and schedule social media content, draft captions and promotional messaging, monitor engagement, respond to comments or messages as directed, research current social media trends, and track basic analytics to help evaluate performance.
  • Capture photos and videos at programs, events, and activities to support marketing and community outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with staff to develop engaging content promoting Parks and Recreation programs and events.
  • Create graphics, flyers, and promotional materials using Canva or similar design tools.
  • Support marketing campaigns, promotional projects, and consistent department branding.
  • Assist with updating website content and event calendars.
  • Prepare newsletters and other promotional communications.
  • Support department marketing needs.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for event and program support and promotion.
