POSITION OVERVIEW
A rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company, Alarm.com, is seeking a motivated, early to mid-career Scrum and Cross-Team Project Manager who wants to be part of a fast-paced, continually growing technology platform. The Scrum and Cross-Team Project Manager in Device Integrations role is perfect for candidates who want to gain exposure to a wide variety of technologies in the IoT world, including hardware, embedded systems, and communications technologies. This position is ideal for the candidate who seeks to lead teams that design, develop, and implement new hardware and integrated firmware solutions that are designed by Alarm.com.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Engineering and Product Management teams to properly scope, integrate, and deliver software changes in a fast-paced Agile development environment.
- Complete ownership of the project development lifecycle and project team task tracking, utilizing existing hybrid Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Proactive identification, escalation, and resolution of dependencies, risks, and prioritization conflicts.
- Understand development processes and procedures within Device Engineering, including integrated firmware project requirements for successful product design and delivery.
- Establish and measure project milestones, effectively prioritizing deliverables, and managing cross-project dependencies to meet delivery goals.
- Coordinate with local and remote team members to succeed with use of project management techniques and task tracking platforms.
- Communicate with and report on projects to Engineering Leads, Product Management, and Program Management on a weekly basis
- Maintain and improve Engineering processes and documentation where there are opportunities, including formal delivery of documentation to 3rd parties, as needed.
- Step in to own and execute on specific project tasks, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. in Engineering discipline (or higher-level degree), or relevant job experience.
- 3-5 years of hands-on project management and cross-functional engineering team experience.
- Experience managing technical software development projects in a team environment.
- Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The position requires understanding and coordination of development needs across multiple teams.
- Ability to context switch, desire to learn, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to connect with people and build working relationships.
- Customer service mentality and willingness to resolve issues completely.
- Minimal travel possible (0-5%).
- PMP or Scrum Master certification a plus.
