Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Expertise:Develop and maintain expertise in all manufacturing processes and the associated equipment and tooling used in rubber gasket production.

• Process Optimization:Analyse and optimize manufacturing processes, production flow, and end-to-end material handling to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

• Tool Design & Maintenance:Oversee tool design and maintenance, ensuring that all tooling meets production requirements and is maintained in optimal condition.

• Material Expertise:Gain in-depth knowledge of the materials used in our manufacturing processes and lead R&D initiatives in collaboration with the Product Innovation team.

• Plant Turnaround:Play a key role in the plant turnaround in Toronto, redesigning fundamental processes, implementing knowledge management, and reporting systems.

• Team Leadership:Manage and mentor a team that includes a Process Specialist and Tooling Developer, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely and manage relationships with other departments to ensure alignment on engineering initiatives and product development.

Education & Certificates

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology

• Professional Engineer Certification is beneficial but not mandatory

Technical Skill & Knowledge:

• 5 to 7 Years of Experience in Engineering Management, or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem-solving techniques.

• Expertise in use of mechanical design software such as CAD or Solidworks

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing a team.
