Requirements
  • University Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience or over 10 years as fully certified engineer
  • Registered member of a Professional Engineering association in Canada, or eligible for registration in Canada
  • Proficient with the PLS-CADD suite design/analysis software and CAD systems, along with familiarity of drawing standards
  • Effective communication abilities in English, including analytical skills, interpersonal communication, and presentations
  • French is an asset
  • Construction / Field work experience is required
Responsibilities
  • Lead a project design team, including junior and intermediate staff
  • Design overhead lines and associated facilities for voltages from 60kV to 735kV in an electric utility environment, including transmission towers, foundations and hardware and fittings
  • Prepare project documentation like reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis, and test plans per CIMA+’s practices
  • Lead and execute design work packages with scope, duration, and effort estimates, and manage design tasks including scope, schedule, and cost for existing and new facilities
  • Provide signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record per provincial regulations and CIMA+’s practices
  • Offer technical assistance, construction support, and field reviews as required
  • Develop design criteria considering multi-disciplinary inputs from the project team
  • Lead the structural design, analysis, and detailing for structures, foundations and hardware assemblies. Review manufacturer shop drawings
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff. Review of designs prepared by others, following established practices
  • Develop and implement safe engineering solutions for the high-complexity projects and operations, ensuring they meet major scope requirements for major utilities in Canada
  • Conduct independent studies and analyses, contribute to the development of technical standards, recommend safe designs, and provide mentorship to enhance the future capabilities of CIMA+’s engineering team
  • Develop and administer procedures, methods, and controls for planning, scheduling, cost control, and technical conformance, ensuring a consistent and robust Engineering Standards process.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, review project schedules, resources, and budgets, and monitor expenditures to ensure project completion is safe, high-quality, on time, and within budget
  • Plan, organize, and direct complex engineering and geoscience activities, making critical technical decisions and recommendations to ensure successful project implementation and resource management at CIMA+

4-lane Conlin Road project goes into detailed design stage.

4-lane Conlin Road project goes into detailed design stage. The City of Oshawa has retained CIMA+ to complete the detailed design of the Conlin Road reconstruction and widening project. The value of the contract was not mentioned. CIMA+ has been contracted to complete the detailed design of Conlin Road East, from Edenwood Drive to Harmony Road North. The design includes, but is not limited to: * A full road reconstruction, * Widening of the road from two to four lanes, * A multi-use pathway on the south side of the road, * A 1.8m sidewalk on the north side of the road, * A new traffic signals at Riverton Street, * A new roundabouts at the Wilson Road North and Laurelview Street intersections, and * New storm sewers. Oshawa said it has also partnered with the Region of Durham on this design. The region's scope includes, but is not limited to, new concrete pressure pipe feedermain (watermain), sanitary forcemains, local watermains, local sanitary sewers and intersection improvements at both Harmony Road North and Ritson Road North. Community members are invited to attend the public open house on Wednesday, July 15 from 7 pm - 9 pm at Delpark Homes Centre to review the detailed design and presentation. New roundabout. The Conlin Road East reconstruction and widening will be receiving a roundabout construction at Grandview Street North. The work involves the: * Reconstruction and widening of Conlin Road East from east of Harmony Road North to Kurelo Drive, * A new storm sewer along Conlin Road East, * A new multi-use pathway on the south side of Conlin Road East, from Coppermine Street to Kurelo Drive, and * A new sidewalk on the north side of Conlin Road East, from Harmony Road North to west of Kurelo Drive. There will also be work on regional infrastructure including new watermain near Harmony Road North, Coppermine Street and Cayenne Street and new sanitary sewer at Coppermine Street. This project started in August 2025 and is scheduled to be completed by December. The Grandview Street North roundabout construction is planned to be completed this summer, while the work on Conlin Road East between Harmony Road North and Grandview Street North is planned to be completed by December.

Millaire has more than 20 years' experience in human resources (HR), including seven at CIMA+. She has led business partnerships and operational services and been responsible for HR strategy in support of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). In her new role, she is responsible for advancing HR practices in line with business strategy and fostering collaborative, inclusive and engaging work environments for employees.
