Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Five years of industrial experience
  • Ability to teach effectively at the college level
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Practical knowledge of engineering science and technology applications, including relevant software and lab equipment
Responsibilities
  • Engage in continuous professional development
  • Develop and deliver undergraduate and potentially graduate-level courses in a range of mechanical engineering topics, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, dynamics and solid mechanics
  • Prepare course materials, including syllabi, lectures, homework assignments, and handouts
  • Plan and conduct laboratory sessions and supervise student projects, including capstone projects
  • Utilize and promote various teaching methods and technologies, including e-learning platforms and computational software
  • Administer and grade exams, assignments, and other student work to assess progress and ensure alignment with accreditation standards (e.g., ABET)
  • Hold regular office hours to provide academic support, advice, and career guidance to students
  • Mentor students who are completing projects or require assistance with course content
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level
