Requirements
  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
  • Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
  • Knowledge on electromagnetic theory required
  • Experience with antenna simulation using software such as Ansys HFSS, and coding using Matlab, Python, or similar
  • Experience with RF measurements and equipment (spectrum, signal analyzers, VNA, etc.) is preferred
  • Must be located in Champaign, IL
  • Must be available for 40 hours in the summer and 10-20 hours per week in the fall and spring
Responsibilities
  • Develop a strategy and process under guidance to better predict overall antenna performance in a vehicle from simulation when the detailed antenna characteristics, locations, or vehicle dimensions are changed
  • Design and simulate under guidance on the performance of multiple antennas co-located in a specific volume with different scenarios of surrounding environment
