Role Overview
As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer at Promise, you will take charge of our software solutions, working directly with customers to make sure they work seamlessly for everyone, from city centers to remote rural areas. You’ll set up, fine-tune, and troubleshoot our product implementations, tailoring them to meet real-world needs. Your work will help expand our reach, making useful technology available to more people.

What You’ll Do
Interact directly with customers to understand their needs, provide technical solutions, and see firsthand the impact of your engineering in action.
Demonstrate a ’whatever it takes’ attitude to make our technical implementations successful with customers, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring the highest level of service and support.
Develop custom applications, where the quality and innovation of your coding contribute to our product’s uniqueness, success, and real-world impact.
Execute high-stakes technical projects in close proximity with our customers, doing anything needed to ensure project success and team efficiency.
Drive architectural discussions with fellow engineers, shaping the technical foundation of projects and influencing their scalability, performance, and overall success.
What Will Enable You:
At least 7 years of experience in software engineering at a product-driven company, coupled with keen interpersonal awareness and enthusiasm for customer engagement. You thrive on being in close proximity to the problems your software is meant to solve.
Completed undergraduate studies in Computer Science or a related field.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C++. If you excel in other languages, we recognize and value that expertise.
Practical knowledge of database technologies, including SQL (like PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL systems (like MongoDB, Cassandra).
Hands-on experience or familiarity with cloud platforms, with emphasis on Google Cloud, and an understanding of tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with version control tools and experience or interest in CI/CD pipelines, including but not limited to tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or CircleCI.
