We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Professional Services to lead our project management practice. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in overseeing complex IT services projects for enterprise customers, with a strong focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will play a critical role in driving project management excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, and driving business growth.
What will you be doing?
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for the project management practice, aligning with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of project managers to deliver exceptional results and drive continuous improvement in project management practices.
- Identify and implement best practices, methodologies, and tools to optimize project management efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability.
- Work collaboratively with the Global Services leadership team to drive industry best professional services practices and operational efficiency and effectiveness throughout the entire delivery organization.
- Customer Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Collaborate closely with sales, account management, and delivery teams to understand customer needs and expectations and develop tailored project management solutions to meet those requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with enterprise customers, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring alignment between project deliverables and customer objectives.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, address issues, and drive value-added services to exceed customer expectations.
- Project Delivery Excellence:
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of projects, from initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Establish robust project management processes, governance structures, and performance metrics to monitor project progress and mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve project issues, escalate concerns as needed, and drive timely resolution to meet project objectives.
- Design and implement effective tools to measure project performance.
- Business Growth and Performance:
- Drive business growth through effective project management practices, ensuring profitable project delivery and maximizing customer satisfaction and retention.
- Partner with sales and account management teams to identify new project opportunities, develop project proposals, and contribute to the sales process as a subject matter expert.
- Analyze project performance metrics, financial data, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to optimize project outcomes.
- Works with the offerings team to help streamline and implement new offerings into ‘production’ by maintaining certain key standards while allowing for the constant evolution of our services.
- Process Improvement:
- Standardize management and measurement practices and internal reporting of delivery-related Key Performance Indicators in order to achieve optimal levels of management oversight and accountability.
- Develop a plan to use time and situational appropriate AI to improve delivery performance. Work with peers to gain support and resources to implement.
- Improves and assists in designing appropriate resource management processes and systems.
- Create and manage Project Management department budget, as well as work with IT to develop the tooling and support budget for the business.
- Assist in streamlining and improving department forecasting processes and accuracy.
What do we need from you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At-scale Professional Services experience.
- 10+ years proven experience in a leadership role overseeing project management functions within the IT services industry, with a focus on enterprise customers.
- Experience with off-shore/near-shore mixed-delivery teams.
- Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches.
- Enterprise tooling knowledge is required, as well as design and architecture capabilities.
- Demonstrated analytical competency, detail-oriented, collaborative, and an agent of change.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic plans, drive business growth, and manage budgets effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and across multiple time zones.
- PMP or other relevant project management certifications preferred.
- Ability to work across multiple teams and collaborate outside of direct reporting lines will be critical. Gathering feedback and reaching consensus / alignment on various initiatives will be important to achieve the necessary levels of success in this role.
- In depth understanding of corporate KPIs and factors influencing these KPIs.
