Requirements
  • 2 to 5 years of solid legal experience in technology sector, either at a top-tier or tech-focused law firm or as in-house counsel at a technology company (ideally a SaaS start-up or scale-up), or both
  • Masters degree in law
  • Bar admission is a plus but not required
  • Fluent in French and English with ability to draft, negotiate, and communicate in both languages, written and spoken
  • Ability to think like a business partner, reading legal questions in a commercial context and proposing workable options
  • Experience with commercial contracts and exposure to GDPR/privacy, IP, or regulatory compliance (hands-on exposure)
  • Comfort with asynchronous, remote-friendly, fast-moving work environment and ability to manage multiple workstreams independently and keep stakeholders informed
Responsibilities
  • Own commercial contracts end-to-end by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for sales, growth, product, and engineering; serve as the go-to for contract questions across the business
  • Advance GDPR compliance by working with the Head of Legal and Data Protection Officer to implement privacy by design and strengthen data treatment register, privacy policy, and IT security routines
  • Monitor and assess new AI regulatory rules and their impact on the machine learning and artificial intelligence teams to help them adapt
  • Maintain and strengthen intellectual property position including managing trademark registrations, domain names, and infringement monitoring as the company scales into new markets
  • Support the Head of Legal on corporate, labour, public affairs, and other legal needs to broaden skillset and support business growth
