Requirements
  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.
  • M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
  • This level may be achieved by Engineers with ten years’ experience since B.S. or nine years since M.S.; typical incumbent has 15 to 20 years of experience.
  • PE License required.
  • FDOT experience preferred.
  • Proven organizational, technical writing and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Identifies and solves complex structural engineering issues.
  • Review Category 1 structure plans and other technical documents such as Design Variations, Design Exceptions, typical section packages, maintenance permits and non-conventional project concept plans and documents.
  • Coordinate with Central Office on, and perform the District review of, plans and/or non-conventional project concept plans and documents involving Category 2 structures.
  • Provide input to the Department’s Structures Engineer regarding potential policy manual and design standard revisions.
  • Provide structural engineering support to Department and Consultant staff in areas of structure plans, analysis and design.
  • Assist in the preparation Scope of Services and staff hour estimates for new contracts and Supplemental Agreements.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager on units and staff hour meetings and with other technical disciplines to provide a multidiscipline approach to negotiations.
  • Assist with development of Requests for Proposals (RFP) for nonconventional bid projects.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project.
  • Review all component plans for structural details and coordination among plan sets.
  • Review contractor-initiated submittals (RFIs, RFCs, shop drawings, remedials, etc.) and coordinates with construction personnel as necessary.
  • Coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
  • Record review comments in Electronic Review Comments (ERC) system and confirms compliance to comments with responses and subsequent submittals.
  • May occasionally assist in the management of projects.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
Desired Qualifications
  • M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
  • FDOT experience preferred.
  • Candidate may be eligible for project management training.

AtkinsRéalis Group, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company, reported fourth-quarter revenue of $2.9 billion, up 13% year-over-year, with full-year revenue reaching $11.0 billion, up 14%. AtkinsRéalis Services revenue increased 17% in Q4 and 16% for the full year. The company achieved diluted earnings per share from Professional Services & Project Management of $2.14 for 2025, up 80%, whilst adjusted diluted EPS reached $3.36, up 88%. Full-year operating cash flow totalled $461 million, and backlog reached a record $21.2 billion as at 31 December 2025. For 2026, AtkinsRéalis expects Engineering Services Regions organic revenue growth of 5-7% and Nuclear revenue of approximately $2.5 billion. Operating cash flow is projected at roughly $500 million.

Ferrovial Buys 5.06% 407 ETR Stake
