Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy, a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, from an American Physical Therapy Association-accredited college or university.
  • Current licensure by the Board of Allied Health Professionals, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or application for the same.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support of Adult, Child and Infant.
  • Demonstrated pursuit of continuing education courses relative to the field of physical therapy.
  • Knowledge, experience, and competency in dealing with adult rehabilitation and geriatric age groups.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized evaluation, documentation of findings and progress, comprehensive planning and implementation of treatment plans, patient and family education, and determination of rehabilitation and patient goals under the direction of a physician.
  • Assess and implement appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis and status, in accordance with the Physical Therapy Code of Ethics.
  • Complete documentation, including initial evaluations, daily flow sheets, weekly progress notes, discharge summaries, statistics, and letters of justification for durable medical equipment, on a timely basis.
  • Delegate appropriate duties to physical therapy assistants, aides, and supportive personnel.
  • Coordinate and organize a full treatment caseload.
  • Attend and report at team conferences, treating team conferences, and family team conferences.
  • Provide or enhance staff, patient, and family education through continuing education courses and seminars and review of current relevant literature.
Desired Qualifications
  • Membership in the Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association.
