Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic partnerships as a source of new fermentation and DSP opportunities
  • Identify spin-off opportunities in the biomanufacturing space and support their establishment with Ginkgo's VC partners
  • Articulate Ginkgo's mission, value proposition, and business model, supported by comprehensive characterization of Ginkgo's capabilities and accomplishments
  • Attend and represent Ginkgo at vertical-related conferences and networking events
  • Support marketing in vertical-related lead generation activities
  • Foster internal growth
  • Help build Ginkgo's culture
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, and keep them apprised of new developments & needs
  • Invoke innovative business structures and engagement optionality for given opportunities
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience leading a fermentation and/or DSP business is a plus
  • Degree in life science, physical science, or engineering is preferred
  • Identify and research potential partners, conduct discovery meetings and forming relationships
  • Diligently tracks emerging technologies and innovations in biomanufacturing as well as competitive activity and provides this intelligence to key stakeholders
  • Generate new opportunities, identify, and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
  • Develop a strategic plan and road map for biomanufacturing
  • Works closely technical and marketing teams to develop decks for customer and partner presentations
  • Develops forecasts, works closely with finance to develop cost, price, and margin scenarios
  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis; negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
  • Takes the lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships
  • Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources
  • Proven record negotiating and closing contract clients
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers and meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss strategy
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations
