Requirements
  • Prior right-of-way acquisition experience with 345 kV or higher transmission line easement acquisition projects: at least 2 years for a Right-of-Way Agent or 7 years for a Senior Right-of-Way Agent.
  • Ability to work independently in varied and remote settings, in the field and with clients and other professionals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of ArcGIS software and Google Earth.
  • Ability to navigate and locate specific properties in the field.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and conduct overnight work away from home for more than 80% of the time.
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours, including six-day work weeks.
  • Current valid driver's license and a personal vehicle suitable for field work.
  • Current Minnesota Real Estate Salesperson License, or ability to obtain one.
  • Current Minnesota and Wisconsin Notary Public status, or ability to obtain it.
  • Ability to work with other professionals in a growing business.
Responsibilities
  • Support right-of-way acquisition, land leasing, permitting, and construction activities for high-voltage transmission line projects.
  • Establish trust and build the foundation for a long-term positive relationship between the client and landowner.
  • Make independent decisions while working with landowners and project stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Coordinate meetings with landowners and appropriate project stakeholders on site or at mutually agreeable locations.
  • Explain project scope, timelines, processes, contracts, financial agreements, and other pertinent information to landowners.
  • Provide regular status reports to project managers on assigned land-acquisition and permitting tasks.
  • Prepare necessary agreement documents and permitting forms for the project.
  • Settle crop and property damages after construction.

  • Experience working with 345 kV, 500 kV, or 765 kV transmission lines.
