About the Role

We are looking for a skilled engineer to help build a connectivity layer and associated services between our fleet of bots and the cloud infrastructure. Our team, Fleet connectivity, builds the infrastructure to update, monitor and connect Nuro’s fleets. Our engineers work on the tech stack across the cloud and robots to build reliable, efficient systems for telemetry, software updates, and network connectivity, which is essential to the advancement and scale up of our AV vision. 

About the Work

• Design and develop the software stack for updating Nuro’s bots over the air, including builds, packaging, release, onboard install, management of third party firmware, and monitoring/performance
• Design and develop software stack for Nuro’s real-time fleet data services end-to-end from bot to cloud, including teleoperation connectivity
• Provide design, development, and debug support targeted for full-stack diagnostic and analytical solutions
• Develop test and validation programs to ensure the robustness of system architecture and data flows
• Integrate with partner teams and internal data consumers to realize the projects
• Provide design guidance and technical mentorship for junior engineers
  
  

About You

• 4+ years industrial experience writing and maintaining cloud services
• Strong proficiency in C++, Go, Python, or similar languages
• Ability to turn high-level requirements into a detailed, cohesive system design
• Experience with OTA software updates
• You have start-up DNA: You have demonstrated an ability to thrive in the ambiguity of a dynamic, start-up environment or have the DNA to do so
• You possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  

Bonus Points

• Knowledge of I/O and storage systems
• Experience with low-level system & framework design
• Familiarity with basic L2/L3 networking concepts, and embedded LTE modems
• Robotics experience and computer architecture experience
  

At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected pay range is between $152,000 and $228,000/year for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
