Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • At least 10 years of senior-level experience in Department of Defense data center management.
  • At the start date, possession of at least one active Project Management Professional, VMware Certified Professional, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or Certified Information Security Manager certification.
  • A strong background in network architecture and engineering, enterprise information technology infrastructure, and secure data center operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects in Department of Defense or large-scale enterprise information technology environments.
  • Experience in technical training and mentorship.
  • Ability to provide executive-level reporting and technical advisement to senior leadership.
  • Experience supporting customers in classified and unclassified environments.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current Department of Defense Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance eligibility on day one and before entry on duty.
Responsibilities
  • Direct all aspects of data center operations, including capacity management, system availability, performance optimization, and compliance with Department of Defense standards and Risk Management Framework/Assessment and Authorization requirements.
  • Integrate facility management considerations, including power, cooling, cabling, and space utilization, into information technology planning, modernization, and sustainment.
  • Oversee technical program and project management, including requirements definition, scheduling, configuration and change management, risk management, and documentation.
  • Provide technical training, mentorship, and oversight to military, government civilian, and contractor staff to enhance operational readiness.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce documentation, standard operating procedures, configuration baselines, and continuity of operations plans to ensure mission assurance and rapid recovery.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies, cloud and hybrid strategies, cybersecurity risks, and modernization initiatives affecting enterprise data center operations.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity directives, including Security Technical Implementation Guides, Information Assurance Vulnerability Management, and Department of Defense cybersecurity service provider guidelines.
  • Serve as the senior technical point of escalation for mission-critical issues, coordinating with higher headquarters and joint partners as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • At least 10 years of senior-level experience in Air Force data center management.
  • ITIL 4 Foundations or higher certification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect – Professional certification.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification.
