- At least 2 years of histology experience.
- Strong microtomy and staining proficiency.
- Experience working with animal and/or human tissue types.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends as needed based on laboratory workload.
- Perform tissue grossing, embedding, and microtomy, including FFPE and frozen/OCT sectioning.
- Execute hematoxylin and eosin and special stains according to established protocols.
- Scan and digitize slides using whole slide imaging systems.
- Troubleshoot histology workflows and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Perform quality control checks and maintain accurate documentation in the laboratory information system.
- New York State license and/or Histotechnician or Histotechnologist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
- Experience with whole slide imaging or digital pathology platforms.
- Experience in a research or contract research organization laboratory.
