Requirements
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
  • Licensed by the South Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Physical requirements include ability to perform job functions while standing, walking, bending, twisting, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted and frequent repetitive motions.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and direct administration of therapeutic procedures to patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments, as prescribed by a referring practitioner.
  • Provide care in congruence of the goals established by the occupational therapist.
  • Re-assess patient’s progress at regular, timely intervals and support findings with appropriate documentation.
  • Work under the direction and supervision of the occupational therapist.
