Requirements
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
  • Experience operating/troubleshooting integrated digital avionics management systems on Special Operations rotary wing aircraft including at least one of the following platforms: MH-6M, MH-6R, MH-47G, and MH-60M.
Responsibilities
  • Support US Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) at Ft. Campbell, KY.
  • Conduct static analysis/collection of network traffic and digital protocol data transmissions.
  • Execute software loading of Type -1 crypto modernized/software defined radio suites.
  • Debug system and sub-system through serial command line interfaces and remote protocols.
  • Development of Acceptance Test Procedures for both Collins and non-Collins equipment.
  • Analysis of hardware interfaces and wiring schematics to identify and address interoperability/compatibility defects.
  • Serviceability assessment of sensitive optical devices and image quality analysis.
  • Handle/Operate cryptographic keying devices.
  • Compile/Instruct educational modules for supported systems.
  • Record, reduce, and plot data collected during flight test.
  • Conducts scheduled, and impromptu, training sessions for software loading and systems troubleshooting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of infrared optical sensors and laser targeting systems.
  • Understanding of millimeter wave terrain following radar systems.
  • Experience with RF energies operating in the UHF, VHF, HF, L, C, S and KU bands.
  • Experience with anti-jam/anti-spoof GPS receivers and Inertial Navigation Units.
  • Experience with aviation maps and navigational charts.
  • Experience with Aircraft Survivability Equipment with a primary focus on the L3Harris SIRFC (Suite of Integrated Radio Frequency Countermeasures).
  • Experience with operating, loading, troubleshooting software defined radio sets.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products to include Excel, Visio, and Access Database.
  • Knowledge of spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, and arbitrary waveform generators.
  • Demonstrate the fundamentals of wire harness fabrication and military installation/repair practices.
  • The ability for a candidate to pass medical screening to receive a Class III Medical Certificate for flight duties, is desired.
