Responsibilities
  • Ability to prepare specimens for metallographic and electron microscopy examination.
  • Demonstrates a strong personal commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Utilizes common lab tooling such as cutting saws, abrasive saws, polishing equipment, and hand tools to prepare metallurgical samples.
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
  • Comfortable working with radioactively contaminated materials.
  • Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Conducts engineering and related studies.
  • Strives to continually improve job-related, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance.
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.

  • Experience in the power generation utility industry.
  • Working knowledge of nuclear, fossil, and hydroelectric power plant systems.
  • Chemistry and/or mechanical background.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Experience and demonstrated written and oral communications skills, including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings and provide direction to others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, be a self-starter, exercise flexibility, and take personal responsibility for assigned accountabilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Nuclear Asset Suite (NAS).

PETERSBURG, Fla., Feb. 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Duke Energy Foundation announced it has donated $40,000 to the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas (AAAPP) to supply severe weather kits to older adults in preparation for the 2025 hurricane season."Helping seniors stay safe in their homes is the mission of the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, so we are so grateful for Duke Energy's support of our Senior Storm Kit program," said Ann Marie Winter, the not-for-profit's executive director. "Duke's funding will help about 1,000 seniors cope when severe weather hits.
